Land Rover - 1989 Range Rover V8 3.9

Restoration of

1989 Range Rover v8 3.9

We are currently in the advanced stages of restoring a 1989 Range Rover V8 3.9, a model renowned for its high displacement V8 engine and offroad capabilities. This project is designed to restore the vehicle's mechanical functionality, structural integrity, and aesthetic finish, employing rigorous and precise restoration methodologies.

Engine and Mechanics

The 3.9 litre V8 engine has undergone a complete disassembly, followed by a meticulous inspection. Components have been reconditioned or replaced to meet original factory standards, ensuring optimal and long lasting performance. After reconstruction, engine was paired with the transmission in a fully restored chassis, which had been treated to remove corrosion and reinforce its structure.

Key Systems

  • Braking System: A completely new braking system has been installed, featuring high performance discs and components designed to ensure maximum safety and operational efficiency in both offroad and urban conditions.
  • Steering System: The steering system was fully disassembled, overhauled, and calibrated using high precision tools to guarantee reliable and consistent directional control.

Bodywork and Structure

Body was separated from the chassis for comprehensive cleaning and restoration. All areas affected by corrosion or wear have been repaired using materials technically compatible with the original design. Bodywork has been painted in two tones (Sauri Classics' special blue and matte black), using advanced application technologies that ensure uniformity, durability, and a professional finish faithful to the factory design.

Final Touches

The interior restoration is currently underway, including the installation of premium quality upholstery, inspection of comfort systems such as air conditioning, and final adjustments to the interior panels. The goal is to deliver a balance of aesthetics and functionality that respects the original model's specifications.

This restoration project follows a systematic approach, utilising diagnostic tools and precision assembly procedures. The final result will be a Range Rover Classic that not only regains its original condition but is also prepared to meet the demanding challenges of modern offroading and exceed the expectations of enthusiasts of this iconic model.
